A HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MST THIS
EVENING.
* TIMING...WEST WINDS HAVE INCREASED OVER THE FRONT RANGE
FOOTHILLS AND ADJACENT PLAINS LATE THIS MORNING. WIND GUSTS OF
67 MPH HAVE BEEN REPORTED AT THE NATIONAL WIND TECHNOLOGY CENTER
AND 63 MPH HAS BEEN REPORTED IN GOLDEN. EARLIER THIS MORNING
BOULDER HAD A WIND GUST TO 59 MPH. STRONG WIND GUSTS WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON AND THEN BEGIN DIMINISHING.
* WINDS...WEST WINDS AT SPEEDS OF 30 TO 45 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 60 TO
70 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG AND NEAR THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE
FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS THROUGH MID-AFTERNOON. THE STRONGEST WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR ACROSS LARIMER...BOULDER AND NORTHERN
JEFFERSON COUNTIES.
* IMPACTS...STRONG AND ERRATIC CROSS WINDS WILL AFFECT NORTH-
SOUTH HIGHWAYS...LIKE THE PEAK TO PEAK HIGHWAY...HIGHWAY 93
BETWEEN BOULDER AND GOLDEN...AND HIGHWAY 287 BETWEEN FORT
COLLINS AND THE WYOMING BORDER. HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES WILL BE
EXTREMELY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE HIGH WINDS. LIGHTWEIGHT AND
UNSECURED ITEMS...LIKE GARBAGE CANS...SHOULD ALSO BE PROTECTED
